Job Overview/Summary:

The MIS Officer will assist the MIS Manager in the implementation of software development related tasks for the development of tools for better collection and analysis of data. MIS Officer will also be responsible for the development of Country and program databases and applications and will also provide technical support to project MIS teams.

This role will work within the MEAL unit, but will have exposure to several different units within the IRC, and staff at different levels due to the nature of his/her work. This is a challenging position that requires strong analytical & problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal and coordination skills, should be objective oriented, a high level of personal initiative, and the ability to work well in a distributed, fast-paced environment.

Major Responsibilities:

·         Development of site layouts/user interfaces for Country program databases and applications. Data entry and analysis using latest dot net technologies.

·         Development of different types of informative dashboards.

·         Development & deployment of user-friendly web applications using latest dot net technologies.

·         Arrange Orientation & Training sessions when required.

·         Strong analytical skills and able to work individually as well as part of the team.

·         Excellent communication & coordination skills to ensure timely collection of data from different programs.

·         Ensure maintenance of software tools on a regular basis.

·         Management of all the data of the project.

·         Following up with partners on monthly data, data cleaning and data completion.

·         Analysis of all the data to make it presentable for management when required

·         Assisting in designing format for field data Collection tools in COBO or Comcare.

·         Designing, updating, Cleaning, Maintenance and backing up of various databases.

·         Regular project data entry on specified formats and produce information, data and statistics for agreed and ad-hoc reports.

·         Timely submission of weekly, monthly reports of project with analysis with field staff and management

·         Ensure the programs’ databases meet the data management, protection and information guidelines.

·         Be flexible and adaptable with regards to the implementation of the daily work,

·         Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Key Working Relationships:

·         Reports to: MIS Manager

·         Other internal contacts: Sr. Manager Measurement & Effectiveness, MIS officers/Assistants, MEAL officers/Assistants, IT department

Job Requirements:

Education:

·         Master’s degree or equivalent in the field of information technology or Computer Science.

Experience:

·         At least two years of work experience of working in latest dot net technologies

·         Demonstrated experience of data management and reporting using different data management tool

Required Skills:

·         Strong analytic skills and high-level understanding of data (for collection, analysis and dashboard design), ability to recognize, interpret and synthesize patterns in data

·         Willingness to work under pressure and stressful situations without compromising on deadlines or quality

·         Strongly resilient to unfavorable situations

·         Excellent computer skills and competency in MS Access, MS Project and Advanced Excel (developing/using macros).

·         Excellent software development skills specially in latest dot net technologie
