| Job Description: |
The Sub Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks.
- Village Selection & Assessment
- Identify and assess potential villages for hand pump installation, focusing on the most vulnerable populations with no access to safe drinking water.
- Validate the selected villages in consultation with the WASH & DRR Lead.
Site Identification
- Select suitable locations within the villages for hand pump installation based on SF's standard guidelines and technical feasibility.
Monitoring & Supervision
- Monitor the installation process carried out by vendors to ensure compliance with SF’s BoQs and approved technical drawings.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to technical standards throughout the implementation.
- Ensure water quality testing are conducted by the vendor both before platform construction and after.
- Validate test results and ensure water meets safety standards and fit for drinking.
- Verify the quality of materials used for hand pump installation as per the BoQ and ensure proper usage at each site.
Community Engagement
- Responsible for formation of Water User Committees (WUCs) and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) groups in each village.
- Orient community members on the maintenance and sustainability of the installed hand pumps.
Coordination
- Maintain strong coordination with vendors and the SF WASH & DRR team to ensure smooth and timely execution of the assignment.

Deliverables
- Final list of selected villages validated in coordination with the WASH & DRR Lead.
- Formation of WUCs and O&M groups at village level.
- Water quality testing reports (Pre & Post).
- Daily situation reports documenting field activities and progress.
- Completion report for each hand pump installed.
- Village profiles detailing community background, water needs, and intervention outcomes
- At least 2 case studies and good quality pictures.
