Job Description:

Technical Leadership (RI, PEI, & VPD Surveillance)


  1. Provide onsite coaching to vaccinators on schedule, safe injection practices, session organization, and cold chain; troubleshoot AEFI documentation and AFP case detection/linkage
  2. Provide Technical support to Epi vaccinators in improving immunization services, zero dose coverage and refusal conversion, on epi schedule, Vaccination methods
  3. Provide Technical support in refusal conversion and in recording, reporting and management of AEFI and AFP cases and other positive case of diseases of outbreak potential.
  4. Ensure stringent implementation of SOPs at fixed/outreach posts; verify potent vaccine handling, stock records, and waste segregation/disposal
  5. Ensure maintenance of records and report of communicable diseases and disease of outbreak potential and conduction of mop up activity and conducting awareness session in response to any positive cases
  6. Implement standard operating procedure of vaccination at fixed station and outreach level.
  7. Use data (defaulter, zero-dose, session monitoring) to target hard-to-reach, reduce drop-outs, and drive micro-improvements each month
  8. Ensure patent supply chain of vaccines, its storage and management of health care waste produced as a result of vaccination in coordination with district health office,
  9. Ensure Refusal, zero dose and defaulter lists with relevant information are maintained and updated on weekly and monthly basis.



·       Prepares monthly EPI and PEI related reports.


RED/REC Microplanning & NEIR integration


  • Lead annual and quarterly RED/REC microplanning at facility + union council levels: analyze coverage/timeliness, map populations/sites, plan outreach, assign teams, estimate resources, and set monitoring charts with monthly reviews.
  • Ensure NEIR/EIR is fully operational: vaccinator log-ins, real-time client registration, session entry, dashboards for supervisors, SMS reminders to caregivers, and routine use of defaulter lists for targeted follow-up.
  • Align paper registers with NEIR to avoid dual-reporting gaps; reconcile monthly before submission.

Polio SIAs/NIDs/SNIDs


·       Serve as RI/PEI focal person with District EPI/EOC: attend micro-plan meetings; validate line-lists, team composition, and booth/UC maps; ensure RI linkages (conversion of missed/zero-dose to RI).


·       Provide pre-SIA training/briefing, intra-campaign monitoring, and evening meeting analysis; support rapid response/mop-up based on LQAS/monitoring findings.


·       Coordinate post-SIA data reconciliation (missed children lists) and refer to RI/NEIR tracing; contribute to EPI–PEI integration agenda as per national synergy framework.


SBCC, Community Engagement & Demand Generation


·       Co-Plan and deliver SBCC calendar with the SBCC coordinator: Evidence – informed messages, interpersonal communication (IPC), influencers’ engagement, community dialogues, and zero-dose/hesitancy conversion actions, and School Based Health Activities.


·       Establish/strengthen community platforms (PCMCs, Refusal Conversion Committees, and Religious/Community Leaders); document actions and outcomes in monthly reports.


Data, Monitoring, & Reporting


·       Ensure complete, timely, and accurate record: dail/permanent registers, temprature logs, stock/consumption, birth notifications, RED/REC microp-plans, defaulter and Zero-dose lists; submit consolidated monthly EPI/EPI reports.


·       Lead joint supervision with district EPI and other stakeholders; produce visit notes with corrective actions and track closure by due dates.


·       Establish/strengthen community platforms (PCMCs, Refusal Conversion Committees, and Religious/Community Leaders); document actions and outcomes in monthly reports.


Occasional Significant Duties


·       Participates in EPI and PEI related meetings with district Health office and other stakeholder working on routine immunization and polio eradication program


Coordination/Representation:


·       Co-ordinate with SBCC coordinator for social and Behavioral change activities.


·       Coordinate with the Logistic department to ensure necessary support for Epi vaccinators.


·       Coordinate with Monitoring officer and ensure suggested changes from time to time.
